Google and Turkcell have announced a landmark partnership to construct Turkey's first hyperscale data center by 2029. The collaboration positions Google to strengthen its foothold in one of the world's fastest-growing tech markets while advancing Turkey's ambition to become a regional digital powerhouse.

The facility will comprise three large network clusters, each housing thousands of servers to support cloud computing, storage solutions, streaming services, and AI applications across Turkey and neighboring countries. Turkcell CEO Ali Taha Koc stated the project will elevate the company to a global cloud center, fundamentally transforming data processing and storage capabilities domestically.

Turkcell plans to invest $1 billion through 2032, more than doubling its data center capacity. The company projects a sixfold increase in cloud and data center revenue in dollar terms by 2032, serving as both infrastructure provider and reseller of Google Cloud services.

This initiative aligns with Turkey's strategic push to establish itself as a digital services and AI hub for the region. The country's cloud market, growing at approximately 20% annually, is expected to reach $4.2 billion in value.
